Editorial Policy

Who we are

SnaggingFinder is a comparison and referral service for UK new build buyers. We are not surveyors, engineers or lawyers, and we do not inspect properties. Content is published by SnaggingFinder as an organisation; we do not attribute articles to named experts unless that person wrote or reviewed them.

Independence

Commercial relationships do not change scores. The inspector table is ordered by the editorial score described in the methodology, and we do not accept payment for favourable placement. How we earn money is set out in the affiliate disclosure.

Sourcing

• Statistics name their publisher, the scope of what was measured and the survey year.
• Inspector facts come from the provider's own published information and show the month they were checked.
• Editorial estimates are labelled as estimates, not presented as survey results.
• Observations about a housebuilder describe defect types buyers commonly check for; they are not company-wide defect rates and do not imply that a builder causes a given defect.

Legal and warranty statements

Warranty rights depend on the warranty provider, the policy wording, your contract and where you live. Statements about warranties say which scheme and which part of the UK they apply to, and are general guidance — not legal advice. Rules in Scotland and Northern Ireland can differ from England and Wales.

Dates on pages

“Last verified” dates reflect when information was actually checked. We do not change dates to make content look fresh, and sitemap dates change only when page content changes.
